Notice of Public Meeting for the Airfield Safety Enhancement and Improvements Program
The San Antonio International Airport conducted a public meeting regarding proposed improvements to the airport’s runways in order to increase safety, accommodate current and near future capacity, and improve operations. This is one of the next projects out of the approved San Antonio International Airport Strategic Development Plan. The public meeting was held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center Auditorium. The meeting was conducted in English with Spanish translations, and it was held in an open house format with no formal presentation.

Notice of Availability of the Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact / Record of Decision for the San Antonio International Airport Terminal Development Program
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Southwest Region, after careful and thorough consideration of all facts and after coordination with appropriate local, state, and federal agencies, approved on October 28, 2024 an environmental Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) / Record of Decision (ROD) for the proposed Terminal Development Program (TDP) at San Antonio International Airport (SAT), San Antonio, Texas.
The TDP would improve facilities to accommodate forecast increases in passengers and airport operations at an adequate level of service. Project improvements include, but are not limited to:
- Development of a new passenger terminal building.
- Demolition of structures to accommodate a new passenger terminal building.
- Improvements to terminal access roadways.
- Construction of a ground transportation center.
- Construction of support facilities and utilities.
The Final Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regulations at Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), parts 1500-1508, Regulations for Implementing the Procedural Provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act and FAA Order 1050.1F, Environmental Impacts: Policies and Procedures.
